My Super Secret Folder

In this week's episode we talked about my ritual of reviewing my goals on Saturday morning. I have a trusty folder I carry around everywhere. After my morning coffee I pull it out and review each page. Here is a list of what I keep with me and review regularly.

You can really customize a folder to whatever you need to keep top of mind - these are the items I've curated for this year:

1) Word of the Year - kind of cheesy but I literally picked the word and printed out the entire list of synonyms and a few antonyms. I read through them as kind of a reminder of who I want to be. My word is Purposeful - I didn't intentionally print the antonyms but I'm glad they are there. There are 2 words on the page that I read and remember that's not who I intend to be: aimless and irresolute

2) In a recent exercise for a class I was taking - I had to ask others what they think of me. I created a word cloud and I look at it regularly. I'm proud of the words on the page and want to make sure I continue to show up that way to the world.

3) Growth Plan - If you are with Keller Williams Realty or have taken BOLD you may recognize this. It's literally a calendar with what I'm doing each month to grow personally or professionally. How many books am I going to read? What classes am I attending? Etc. AND when?

4) Allocations Form - this lets me see what money is needed for personal and business expenses. It also lists what I'm doing with profit and how many sales are required for each category. I like this because at a quick glance I can know if I'm on track for the profit goals based on how many units are needed to push me beyond basic needs.

5) Business Plan - this is the MREA Models written out. Economic Model, Lead Generation Model, Budget Model (a very basic one), and Org Model. The Org model is the chart of people I want to hire and by when. That's really 4 pages but it's all part of one plan I'm reviewing.

6) GPS or 1-3-5 - this is a page with strategy. It stands for 1 big goal, 3 priorities, and 5 strategies for each priority. It's the game plan for how to achieve everything else.

7) Calendar for the entire year - I have already mapped out when I'm going to be gone and how many actual working days there area. I like to look at this weekly to see how many actual days off I had. It's just a quick count each week - did I work the weekend days yes or no. It helps me work towards more time off and a balanced life.

8) 4-1-1 - This is a goal setting tool. It's basically a list of priorities for the month and then broken down for the week that help me achieve the annual goals.

Looking at all of this helps me stay connected to why I'm doing this. And at the end of the review I take what's in the 4-1-1 and figure out where it is going to go on my calendar. This folder is my map and guide. I pull it out to see where I'm at in relationship to the longterm destination. By pulling it out weekly I can course correct as needed.

What is your weekly routine that helps you stay connected to your BIG goals?
